Enhancing Onboarding for Maritime Workers
PROJECT OVERVIEW
In response to the challenges posed by prolonged mandatory stays on cargo ships, we aim to leverage virtual reality (VR) and immersive technology to improve the mental health and alleviate homesickness of crew members. This project seeks to provide a holistic solution that enhances the well-being and psychological resilience of seafarers during their extended voyages.

User Testing Results
We tested our clickable prototype with 9 users from different backgrounds. These were some of the insights and changes we made in our designs after the testing was conducted:
-
Addition of Logo.
-
Put emojis in few screens to make it more interactive.
-
Changed misleading images, concentrated on VR as a concept.
-
Visually represented 'Add Contacts' by putting images.
-
Notifications & pop-ups for clarity of the event going to happen and when is it going to occur.
-
Added a Map in order to show the location of the person in contact.
-
Clarity in timeline using specific and appropriate words.
